Core training mistakes - how to get a six pack the right way (while avoiding back pain)

Core Training Mistakes! How to Build Your Six-Pack the Healthy Way!

You want a toned midsection? A bullet-proof core? Six-pack abs? No luck yet? Here’s where you’re likely going wrong:

“I should do 500 Sit-Ups every day to train my abs, right?” 😁

WRONG. 👎

Here’s why you’re getting low-back pain instead of shredded abs.

Sit-ups are overrated. (Not worthless – just overrated.)

Think about the Sit-Up motion. You keep your back straight. You bring your chest towards your knees. You flex your hips.

I repeat.

“YOU FLEX YOUR HIPS!”

This can be problematic because most folks already have tight hip flexors. Instead of shredded abs, you’ll get low-back pain! 😩

If you are doing tons of sit ups and seeing no results, you need to change your approach. If you want to get something you’ve never had, you must do something you’ve never done. Here’s an idea for you.

Here’s how to get shredded abs instead of low-back pain.

👉 Instead of Sit-Ups, try Deadlifts.

Overrated sit ups and under rated deadlifts for core / ab training

Didn’t see that one coming, did you?

That’s right. Max-Power compound-movements like the Deadlift, Squat, Bench-Press, and Overhead-Press are fantastic for your abs.

Why? 🤔 Because (1) your core provides stability to your midsection during heavy lifting, (2) proper breathing mechanics for weightlifting will strengthen your abs, and (3) big compound movements build the most muscle – and this will cause more Calorie-burn throughout the day.

Here’s your new gameplan for six pack abs:

1️⃣ Indirectly train your abs with a barbell. 🏋️‍♂️ If you’re new to the gym, consider reaching out for one-on-one coaching to get yourself started with confidence.

2️⃣ Directly train your abs with Planks, Crunches, Leg-Levers, and Ab-Wheel Rollouts. 🔥 (Not Sit-Ups!) If you need more instruction on core/abdominal training, check out the free archive of home exercises on my website. Yeah. FREE.

3️⃣ Reveal your abs in the kitchen. 🍽️ If you need help with losing weight while retaining muscle, check out my weight-loss diet video.

Here’s a detailed video that goes into much more depth on the 3 six-pack tips above:

Reminder 1: All the best ab exercises in the world cannot undo a bad diet.

Reminder 2: Shredded abs do not make you “healthy” and nobody who really matters cares if you have a six-pack or not… but you’re still allowed to want a toned core. 😎

Your goals are your goals. Don’t let anybody tell you otherwise. Just keep your head in the right place.
